Below are my revised versions of the assignments listed in the UA English Department's standard syllabus. The assignments remained largely unaltered, though I usually added and "Assignment Goals" section for each. I did alter the "Profile Essay" somewhat by requiring that students choose a place, thing, or idea as a paper topic and a person not well-known to the student as an interview subject.
